Materials Handling
Material handling equipment is used primarily in warehouses for distribution of goods, in manufacturing for moving product around the facility and in logistics for loading and unloading trucks. Some material handling vehicles are 3 and 4-wheeled IC sit-down forklift trucks, pallet and stacker trucks, reach trucks and container handlers. The challenges for this market are longer run times per battery cycle. Applications include lift/lower/extend, mast tilt, cooling, transmission, steering, side shift, and auxiliary functions.
With the recent introduction of the clutch pump and the on-highway fan drives this allows carry-over of proven technology from the mobile market and its application to the material handling market.
